Position Summary

The Medical Director serves as the clinic's physician leader, providing medical oversight for psychiatric and behavioral health services. This contract position works collaboratively with therapists and clinical leadership to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining compliance with state regulations, payer requirements, and clinical best practices.

Hours are flexible and will increase based on client enrollment and service demand.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for behavioral health services.

• Complete psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments as clinically indicated.

• Diagnose behavioral health conditions and establish appropriate treatment plans.

• Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric follow-up appointments.

• Review and approve treatment recommendations when required.

• Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

• Participate in case consultations and treatment planning meetings.

• Ensure clinical services meet applicable regulatory, accreditation, and payer requirements.

• Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices.

• Be available for consultation regarding complex clinical cases.

• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Illinois medical license.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry preferred.

• Current DEA registration.

• Experience treating children, adolescents, and/or adults with behavioral health conditions.

• Experience with psychopharmacology and medication management.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.

• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care.

• Medicaid and commercial insurance credentialing (or eligibility for credentialing) preferred.
